EDITORIAL: November is upon us already with the dreaded fireworks day. If you must have them then please keep them well away from sight and sound of all domestic pets and farm animals as they cause the usual distress; are they worth this; the answer is no! Sound can carry a mile away. November 11th is also Remembrance Day, 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month; much more important this month. Now that winter approaches perhaps it is time to support the birds with extra food if you haven?t been feeding them in the summer. There has been a goldfinch hanging on the nut holder lately which is unusual. Maybe some of you fancy making a bird-box or two in preparation for the Spring. They need to be well settled in before-hand. The stags are still baying first thing in the morning about 7?8.30am, so I have been keeping away from the big lake and woods with the dog. Apart from that it is nice and quiet so early in the day, apart from nature?s lovely sounds; often see a buzzard hanging about. I am afraid that the magazine costs will have to be increased for 2010 as all production costs have gone up, with the ever increasing postal costs too. Returning subscribers may let me know with dues December 28th or thereabouts? 2010 Subs. £4.50/£5.00 + post. £4.80 . Individual copies 55p. We are grateful for all the emails with the funnies which seem to be appreciated by the readers. However it would also be appropriate to have more about goings ?on of the parish. Are there any ?Do you remember?? items. ..................................................Thank you Ed........................................................
